WELCOME TO ESCHATOPIA

ESCHA-TOPIA

Eschatos: A Greek word meaning "last" or "end," commonly used in theology to refer to the study of the end times (eschatology).

Eutopia: There are actually two Greek words for this, with two meanings: eu-topos, meaning "good or perfect place", and u-topos meaning "no place" or, "the place that cannot be.”

(Eschatopia is a combination of eschatos and eutopia meaning, the perfect place in the end times, which relates to the widely understood Christian expectation of the soon coming kingdom of God.)

Within the larger scope of my own biblical studies and teaching ministry, eschatology has always been a major interest of mine. Recently, while visiting the Colorado mountains on a personal retreat seeking direction for this ministry, I spent some time in prayer and reflection and was thinking about the word eschatology. While the term eschatology is not exclusive to Christianity, when used in a Christian context, it means the study of the end times from a biblical perspective.

I got to thinking about how studying Bible prophecy always leads to the recognition of one main, unifying theme throughout the Scriptures, and that is, the hope of God’s ultimate kingdom—an eventual “perfect” future state that will come about when Jesus returns in power and great glory.

While considering the Christian hope of that future "perfect" state, the word eutopia came to mind. And then, it just happened. The two words came together, and I thought, escha-topia. The perfect place in the end times.

From there, the idea of naming the ministry, Eschatopia, and the podcast, Meet Me In Eschatopia, just grew on me. It's a fitting name that aligns with the goal of this ministry, which is to equip believers with an understanding of the prophetic scriptures that will encourage them and help them to live out their lives with an eternal perspective fueled by a real and an ever-intensifying personal hope for Christ's soon return.
